With so much information out there on how to eat right, the advances that have been made in medicine, a deep awareness of the benefits of exercise, why is our overall health less than optimal?
I created this blog to weigh in on my thoughts on health and exercise and why I strongly believe that the answer to this question lies with you.
I have spent the better part of the last 20 years trying to understand what was killing my father and eventually did at the tender age of 61 and grappling with my own mortality. I have been a competitive athlete since I was 7 years old. My grandfather got me into running and I immediately fell in love with the sport. I competed in Cross Country and Track through High School and eventually at the University of Maryland. After college, I remained active and yet, I suffered from some of the same health problems that my father and the rest of my family suffered from. High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure.
I am hoping that by sharing what I have learned about the topic of health and healtful living that I can touch someone and give them some ideas on how they can start on their own path to wellness.
